WELCOME TO GROSVENOR RFC
ABOUT GROSVENOR RUGBY CLUB
Founded in 1953 Grosvenor Rugby Club has a long and proud tradition in Ulster Rugby. One of the top junior clubs in Ulster rugby, in 2009, 2010 and 2018 we were short-listed for ‘Ulster Club of the Year’.

We share the excellent clubhouse and facilities of Malone Rugby Club and field three adult male sides giving our members the chance to play serious or social rugby. All three sides have enjoyed success in recent years. Our 1st XV play in Championship 1 and In 2014, 2019, 2022 and 2024 won the McCrea Cup at Kingspan Stadium. Our 2nd XV play in Provincial 1 and in 2018 reached the Crawford Cup final, being narrowly pipped by Ballynahinch 3rds. Our 3rd XV reached the semi-final of the McCambley Cup in 2019. Our newly formed Academy U21 side caters for younger members and provides a natural stepping stone for school leavers into adult rugby.

We place great importance on the social side of rugby and have a busy calendar of events throughout the year where members, their friends and families can enjoy our superb clubhouse and facilities. Our Annual Tour is the stuff of legend and destinations in recent years include Toulon, Newcastle, Edinburgh, Exeter and Den Bosch in Holland.

OUR COACHES & TRAINING
Our qualified coaching team comprises Jamie McMullan (Head Coach), James Bowman (Asst. Coach), Dee McLaughlin (2nd XV Coach) and Marty McCullough (3rd XV Coach). They all believe passionately in playing expansive, attacking rugby and have many years combined experience playing and coaching at a high level with proven track records of delivering success on the pitch.
Training is on Tuesdays and Thursdays, starting promptly at 6.45 pm (7.00 pm start for pre-season during July & August).
Sessions are carefully planned to develop fitness, individual player skills and team cohesion to help bring success on Saturdays. The Tuesday sessions are physically demanding but enjoyable, and in a recent survey, 96% of players rated them at 4 or higher out of 5 stars in terms of quality. On Thursdays, the focus is on preparing the teams for the upcoming games on Saturdays with game planning and Captain's run sessions.
