Our vision
To be a successful, sustainable rugby club with a strong Grosvenor identity, playing an exciting brand of rugby, recognised for good sportsmanship and great hospitality and for making a positive contribution to Ulster Rugby.
Grosvenor Rugby Club was formed in 1953 and has a long and proud tradition in Ulster Rugby. Over recent years we have enjoyed considerable success and in 2009 and 2010 were short-listed for IRFU Ulster Club of the Year. In March 2012 we were one of only two cubs in Ireland to achieve the IRFU Club Excellence Award and in April 2012 were granted the prestigous Sport NI Club Mark status.
We field 4 adult sides and welcome players of all abililities and experience. Our 1st XV play in Qualifying 2; our 2nd XV in Junior 2; our 3rd XV in Junior 4 and our 4th XV in Minor East 2. We place great emphasis on the social aspect of rugby and our annual tour (which usually coincides with an Ulster away game) is the stuff of legend.
We train on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 6.30pm and for the 2013/14 season our coaching team will comprise Peter Lowry (Head Coach), Alain Douglas (Assistant Coach/2nd XV) with Stevie Hughes, Roley Coey and Mikey Morris looking after the 3rd and 4th XV. Our Club Physios are the wonderful Cat Ferguson and Imogen Porter.
Grosvenor Rugby Club welcomes new members of all playing abilities and experience and can guarantee you great rugby, warm hospitality and friendly cameraderie.
Proud to be a Stag!
